SEAMEO VOCTECH - Brunei Darussalam

SEAMEO VOCTECH, one of the 16 Centres/Network under SEAMEO is located in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. It was established on 28 August 1990 with the mandate to strengthen and improve the quality of vocational and technical education and training through human resources development in Southeast Asia.
Implementing such a mandate, to date, 7 January 2010, the Centre has conducted 458 training programmes to 15, 469 VTET administrators, directors, education and technical officers from the public sector of the SEAMEO region.
Commitment towards Excellence


“As the Leading Centre of Excellence”- the Centre’s Vision is the guidepost that has spurred efficiency in conducting training programmes and carrying out the other services. Our 3rd Five-Year Development through its strategic goals and plans of activities has become the pathway to achieve the Mission. The ISO 9001:2000 Certification, now on its renewed 3-year term is our other source of strength and courage to commit ourselves to harder work and cooperation. The 4th Five-Year Development, to commence this July 2009 will become the Centre’s plan that based on the stipulated goals, activities and performance indicators will help us chart our course and direction to further achieve our vision and mission, thus far until 2014.


As the new Director, with effect from 15 December 2009, I have gained much information on the various programmes and events where the Centre undertook for its stakeholders. To name a few, the regular training programmes, the in-country and customized courses, the Netherlands-SEAMEO VOCTECH research and networking project, information and marketing initiatives and the partnership efforts with organizations, and many other related activities. I also took note on important SEAMEO annual events - the SEAMEO Council Conference, Centre Directors Meeting, Governing Board Meeting, and High Officials Meeting. We do hold our Centre anniversary, family day and spiritual upliftment/religious gatherings, and our assemblies.
My Staff and I, in unity and working together, will meet challenges as we move on this new year….nevertheless, in flexibility and adaptability, we all do our respective tasks and uphold the image of our dear Centre. We will stand firm and determined to cater to the needs of our clients through our true service.
Beckoning us to put affront and continue realizing the motto handed to us by our forbears…“Together We Excel” …do remind us lest we forget.
